BAI is actively seeking an Inspector experienced in Stormwater Management Facilities.  

Job Summary

The Inspector will be hired to work primarily on county capital projects all located within Harford County, Maryland. The Inspector will assist with required MS4 triennial inspections of various existing SWM facilities, which include completed ponds, micro-bioretention areas, submerged gravel wetlands, etc. that are now in the maintenance phase.     

Responsibilities and Duties 

Responsibilities include inspect/observe existing stormwater management facilities to ensure compliance with contract documents, codes, ordinances, etc., prepare electronic daily reports, facilitate resolution of alleged code violations, supports materials sampling/testing activities. Other related duties may be required as directed by County supervision.    

Knowledge, Skills, and Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience with design/construction of SWM BMP's
  • Experience working as a Code Enforcement Inspector a plus
  • Must be able to read and understand project plans, specifications and as-built plans
  • Knowledge of inspection methods and techniques
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to walk entire perimeter of construction sites across uneven terrain
  • Ability to work well within a project team by building relationships and teamwork
  • Ability to travel to project sites

Salary Information

  • Non-exempt position with the likelihood of overtime pay (time and a half)
  • Expected salary range:  $23.00 - $27.00 per hour 
  • Monthly cell phone allowance provided
